- 4 slices of sourdough or artisan bread
- 4 ounces of brie cheese
- 1/2 cup fresh blackberries
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
- Optional: fresh basil leaves or baby arugula
Instructions
- Mash the fresh blackberries with balsamic glaze and honey in a small bowl until slightly chunky.
- Spread an even layer of brie cheese on two slices of bread.
- Spoon the blackberry mixture over the brie and add fresh basil or arugula if desired.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread to form sandwiches.
- Spread softened butter on the outsides of each sandwich.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwiches for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and the brie has melted.
- Remove from skillet and slice in half if desired. Serve warm.
