Description
A flavor-packed dish featuring succulent chicken, sautéed vegetables, and a bold black pepper sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Onion, diced
- 1 Bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 lb Chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 2 tsp Ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
Instructions
- Sauté the chicken: Heat vegetable oil in your skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bite-sized chicken pieces, searing them until golden brown and fully cooked—about 5-7 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside, allowing the flavorful juices to rest.
- Cook the veggies: In the same pan, add the diced onion and sliced bell peppers. Sauté until softened but still crisp, about 4-5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Combine the ingredients: Return the cooked chicken to the pan. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, ground black pepper, and salt, stirring everything together with your wooden spoon for even distribution.
- Simmer to perfection: Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 more minutes, letting the sauce thicken and envelop each piece in flavor. Keep the heat medium to low so that it gently bubbles without sticking to the bottom.
- Serve and enjoy: Serve this delightful dish over fluffy rice or alongside steamed vegetables, garnishing it with green onions if desired.
Notes
Make-ahead option: Prepare your vegetables and chicken ahead of time. This preparation makes cooking a breeze on busy nights.
