Description

Creamy Beef Ragu is a rich and comforting dish that combines tender beef with a creamy sauce, perfect for serving over pasta or polenta.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery; sauté until softened.
  3. Add the beef cubes and brown on all sides.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth; bring to a simmer.
  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours until the beef is tender.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese; cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve over pasta or polenta, garnished with fresh basil.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
  • This dish can be made ahead and reheated.
