Description

A warm, comforting chowder filled with tender potatoes and savory sausage, enveloped in a rich, creamy broth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 slices of sausage (e.g., kielbasa or smoked sausage), sliced
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic until they soften and become translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add the sliced sausage to the pot and cook until golden brown, around 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced potatoes and pour in the broth. Increase heat to a gentle boil, then reduce and simmer until the potatoes are tender, roughly 15-20 minutes.
  4. Gently stir in the heavy cream, season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Ladle the chowder into bowls, garnishing with fresh parsley.

Notes

This chowder tastes even better the next day, so consider making a large batch! Store it in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze in portions for up to 2 months.
