- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups sliced carrots
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)

- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly steam the cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots in a steamer basket until tender (about 5-7 minutes).
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the flour, cooking for 1-2 minutes until it forms a paste.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring continually until thickened (about 5 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted.
- Season the cheese sauce with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Combine the steamed vegetables with the cheese sauce, mixing gently.
- Transfer to a prepared baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.
Notes
Prepare the casserole up to the baking stage and refrigerate overnight. For quicker cooking, use an air fryer and reduce the time to about 20 minutes.
