Description

Custard-Filled Sweet Bread is a delightful pastry that combines a soft, sweet bread with a rich and creamy custard filling, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup prepared custard

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture, then combine with the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
  7. Spread the custard evenly over the dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  9. Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes
