Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture, then combine with the dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
- Spread the custard evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use whole milk instead of skim milk.
- Feel free to add vanilla extract to the custard for extra flavor.
