Description

Irresistibly flaky pastry filled with a creamy, spicy cheese blend, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry (thawed)
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (or Monterey Jack)
  • 1/2 cup Sliced Jalapenos (fresh or pickled)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 large Egg (for egg wash)
  • Dipping Sauces (ranch, sriracha mayo, or honey mustard)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, jalapeños, and garlic powder until smooth.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into strips, about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long.
  5. Place 1 to 2 tablespoons of the jalapeño cheese filling at one end of each strip.
  6. Gently twist the strips to enclose the filling and seal the ends.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving with dipping sauces.

Notes

For a spicier kick, consider using pepper jack cheese or adding crumbled bacon. Leftover twists can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
