- 1 sheet Puff Pastry (thawed)
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
- 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (or Monterey Jack)
- 1/2 cup Sliced Jalapenos (fresh or pickled)
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 large Egg (for egg wash)
- Dipping Sauces (ranch, sriracha mayo, or honey mustard)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, jalapeños, and garlic powder until smooth.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into strips, about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long.
- Place 1 to 2 tablespoons of the jalapeño cheese filling at one end of each strip.
- Gently twist the strips to enclose the filling and seal the ends.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving with dipping sauces.
Notes
For a spicier kick, consider using pepper jack cheese or adding crumbled bacon. Leftover twists can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
