Description
A crusty loaf of garlic-infused bread filled with tender Philly cheesesteak meat, provolone cheese, caramelized onions, and green peppers.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Loaf frozen French garlic bread (12 oz)
- 8 oz Philly cheesesteak meat
- 2 cups shredded provolone cheese
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Medium onion, chopped
- 1 Green bell pepper, chopped
- Olive oil
- Garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the garlic bread package (usually around 375°F / 190°C).
- In a skillet, pour a splash of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, seasoning with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Sauté until they soften, about 5-7 minutes.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the Philly cheesesteak meat and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the beef browns, stirring occasionally, about 5-6 minutes.
- Stir the sautéed veggies into the beef mixture until well combined and heated through.
- Slice the pre-baked garlic bread down the center lengthwise and spread the cheesy beef and veggie mixture over each half.
- Pile the shredded provolone cheese on top and return the bread to the oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Allow to cool for a minute before slicing into portions and serving.
Notes
Make ahead by preparing the beef and vegetable mixture a day in advance. Assemble and bake when ready to serve.
