Description
A delightful pasta dish featuring tender shrimp in a luscious garlic butter sauce, evoking comfort and joy with every bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces spaghetti or linguine
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Fill a large pot with water, bring it to a vigorous boil, and add a generous pinch of salt. Add your pasta, cooking it according to package directions until just al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water, then drain the rest. Set aside.
- Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, warmth the olive oil and let it shimmer. Add the shrimp, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook them for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter. Allow it to foam slightly before adding the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
- Combine: Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing it to coat in the garlic butter goodness. If the mixture seems dry, pour in a bit of the reserved pasta water. Add back the shrimp, parsley, and squeeze of lemon juice. Toss everything together gently until well combined.
- Serve: Plate your succulent garlic butter shrimp pasta immediately, garnishing with additional fresh parsley and a lemon wedge for zest.
