Description

Delightful Hawaiian Roll French Toast with a buttery richness, perfect for breakfasts and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pack King’s Hawaiian Rolls
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup half and half or whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter for cooking
  • Powdered sugar, fresh fruit, and maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your griddle or frying pan over medium heat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half, vanilla extract, cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt until well combined.
  3. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and gently dip each half in the egg mixture.
  4. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter on the griddle, then place the soaked rolls cut-side down.
  5. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Repeat with remaining butter and rolls.
  7. Serve warm with powdered sugar, fresh fruit, and maple syrup.

Notes

Consider using brioche or challah for variations. Prepping the egg mixture the night before saves time.
