  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner halfway with batter.
  6. Place a teaspoon of heart-shaped jam in the center of each cupcake.
  7. Top with more batter until the liners are about ¾ full.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  10. For the frosting, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
