Description

A comforting casserole with layers of ground beef, tender potatoes, and melted cheese, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: green beans or corn

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of a baking dish, overlapping slightly.
  4. Spread half of the beef mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Spread half of the cream of mushroom soup, then half of the shredded cheese.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients, finishing with cheese on top.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure potato slices are even and not too thick. Feel free to customize with your favorite vegetables.
