- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until softened.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Add soy sauce and garlic powder to the gravy, then return the patties to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Serve the Salisbury steak with gravy over mashed potatoes or rice.
