- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 cup kimchi, chopped
- 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
- 1 cup bell peppers (any color), sliced
- 4 slices provolone or American cheese
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- Optional: minced garlic and sugar for marinade
Instructions
- Slice the beef and vegetables thinly against the grain.
- Prepare the marinade by combining soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and sugar.
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Sauté the vegetables in vegetable oil for about 5 minutes until tender.
- Cook the marinated beef in the skillet until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Incorporate the chopped kimchi and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Assemble the cheesesteak in toasted hoagie rolls and top with cheese.
- Broil for about 2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Notes
For maximum flavor, marinate the beef for at least 1 hour or overnight. Customize with different cheeses or add jalapeños for heat.
