- 4 cups Chex Cereal (Rice, Corn, or Chocolate)
- 1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 cup Peanut Butter (or nut butter of choice)
- 2 tablespoons Butter (optional)
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace: Gather your tools and ingredients, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the chocolate mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and peanut butter (and butter, if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
- Combine with Chex: In a large mixing bowl, add the Chex cereal. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over it, gently folding to coat each piece.
- Dust with powdered sugar: Transfer the mixture to the large bowl and add powdered sugar, folding gently until evenly coated.
- Cool and enjoy: Spread the coated cereal onto the prepared baking sheet. Allow to cool for about 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Muddy Buddies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or frozen for up to a month. Consider adding mix-ins like pretzels or marshmallows for variation.
