Description

Delicious Neapolitan Valentine Cupcakes that combine the flavors of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, perfect for celebrating love.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree
  • 1 cup vanilla frosting
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and milk until combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter into three bowls. Leave one bowl as chocolate, add strawberry puree to the second bowl, and leave the third bowl as vanilla.
  8. Layer the batters in the cupcake liners, starting with chocolate, then vanilla, and topping with strawberry.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting with vanilla frosting and garnishing with chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
  • Make sure to use fresh strawberry puree for the best taste.
