Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder

  • Food coloring (pink shades)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 23 tbsp heavy cream (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly into the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
  9. For the frosting, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add the powdered sugar and heavy cream until desired consistency is reached.
  10. Divide the frosting into three bowls and tint each with different shades of pink food coloring.
  11. Using a piping bag, create an ombre effect by layering the different shades of frosting on top of the cupcakes.
