Description

Delightful oven-fried feta rolls encased in flaky phyllo pastry, filled with creamy feta and fresh herbs, drizzled with sweet and spicy chili honey.


Ingredients

  • 8 sheets of phyllo pastry
  • 200 g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix crumbled feta, dill, mint, lemon zest, and black pepper.
  3. Lay out one sheet of phyllo pastry, brush with olive oil, place another sheet on top, and brush that with oil as well.
  4. Cut the layered phyllo sheets into 4 equal strips.
  5. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the feta mixture onto the end of each strip, curl the filling tightly, and roll up into a cylinder.
  6. Place the rolls seam-side down on the baking sheet and brush the tops with olive oil.
  7. Repeat with the remaining phyllo and filling.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  9. While baking, prepare the chili honey by warming honey, chili flakes, and lemon juice in a saucepan.
  10. Drizzle warm chili honey over the rolls before serving or serve on the side for dipping.

Notes

You can prepare the rolls a day in advance and store them in the fridge. Bake shortly before serving for the freshest experience.
