Description

A refreshing tropical beverage combining black tea and passion fruit for the perfect summer experience.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups water, divided
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 1/4 cup vegan granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 3/4 cup passion fruit pulp (from about 45 fruits)
  • Ice, as needed
  • Mint sprig, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the water: Pour 2 cups of water into a saucepan and bring it to a rolling boil.
  2. Steep the tea: Remove the saucepan from heat, add the black tea bags, and let steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. Dissolve the sugar: Remove the tea bags, and while the tea is still warm, stir in the granulated sugar until dissolved.
  4. Mix the passion fruit: In a large pitcher, combine the remaining 1 cup of cold water with the passion fruit pulp and stir well.
  5. Combine and chill: Add the sweetened tea to the passion fruit mixture and stir to blend the flavors. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  6. Serve on ice: Fill glasses with ice and pour the passion fruit iced tea over. Garnish with fresh mint if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For an optimal flavor experience, sweeten while the tea is warm and adjust for the ripeness of the passion fruit.
