Description

A heartwarming casserole featuring tender pierogies and savory sausage, simmered in a rich broth for a comforting home-cooked meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen pierogies (potato and cheese recommended)
  • 1 lb sausage (kielbasa or any preferred type)
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by chopping the sausage into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Layer the frozen pierogies evenly in the bottom of your crockpot.
  3. Spread the sausage pieces over the pierogies.
  4. Pour the broth over the mixture until all ingredients are submerged.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  7. Stir gently before serving and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Make ahead by assembling ingredients the night before and refrigerate. You can also bake this casserole at 350°F for about 45 minutes if preferred.
