Description

Ingredients

  • 1 ball of pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or crushed San Marzano tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked spicy Italian sausage (crumbled)
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Hot honey, for drizzling
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) with your pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness on a floured surface.
  3. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined pizza peel or baking sheet.
  4. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the base.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly.
  6. Scatter the crumbled sausage over the cheese.
  7. Spoon dollops of ricotta across the pizza.
  8. Drizzle with olive oil.
  9. Slide the parchment onto the hot stone or baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  11. Drizzle with hot honey and sprinkle with fresh basil if desired. Let it cool, slice, and serve while warm!
