Description

Delicious pasta shells filled with creamy ricotta and nutritious spinach, baked in a rich marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup spinach, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions; drain and cool.
  3. Combine the ricotta cheese, chopped spinach, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, salt, pepper, and optional Italian seasoning in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese mixture using a spoon or small scoop.
  5. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Arrange the stuffed shells in the dish, open side up.
  7. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells and add extra mozzarella on top if desired.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  10. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can assemble the shells ahead of time and refrigerate them before baking.
