Description

A comforting dish of pasta enveloped in a luscious, creamy tomato sauce with rich flavors of garlic and herbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300 g Pasta (Penne or Spaghetti)
  • 400 g Canned Chopped Tomatoes
  • 200 ml Vegetable Broth
  • 100 ml Cream or Plant-Based Alternative
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 50 g Grated Cheese (optional)
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian Herbs (Basil, Oregano, or Thyme)
  • Fresh Basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chop the aromatics: Finely dice the onion and garlic.
  2. Sauté onions and garlic: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions, cooking until translucent, about 3-5 minutes, then add garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Incorporate tomatoes and broth: Pour in chopped tomatoes and vegetable broth, stirring well to combine.
  4. Add the pasta: Introduce uncooked pasta directly into the bubbling sauce.
  5. Cook until al dente: Simmer the pasta in the sauce for about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Stir in cream and season: Mix in the cream and season generously with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  7. Add cheese (optional): Stir in cheese until melted.

Notes

Customize with sautéed vegetables or proteins. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days.
