- 400 g broccoli
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 100 g cream cheese
- 150 ml vegetable broth
- 50 g grated cheese (such as Parmesan)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon oil
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and add the pasta. Cook according to the package instructions until al dente, adding a splash of oil halfway to prevent sticking.
- While the pasta cooks, remove the broccoli stems and cut the florets into bite-sized pieces. In a separate pot, steam the broccoli in boiling water for about 4-5 minutes, until tender yet still crisp.
- Finely chop the onion and garlic.
- Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet and sauté the onion until translucent.
- Add the chopped garlic and stir-fry briefly.
- Pour in the vegetable broth, letting it simmer.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cream cheese to create a creamy sauce.
- Incorporate the steamed broccoli and season with salt and pepper.
- Fold in the drained pasta and finish with grated cheese.
- Serve hot and enjoy this comforting dish.

For added flavor, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes when sautéing the garlic.
