Description

A delightful spaghetti casserole loaded with creamy cottage cheese and savory ground beef, topped with melted cheese for a comforting family meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz pasta sauce
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened—about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart while cooking until browned, then drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in pasta sauce and Italian seasoning, simmering for about 5 minutes.
  6. Combine cooked spaghetti, cottage cheese, half of the mozzarella, and meat sauce mixture in a large mixing bowl.
  7. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the casserole a day in advance. Reheat in the oven before serving.
